2.3.11 Error reset

Problem:

The OPC home mark sensor stays on longer than normal. The OPC home mark, which

should be 6 mm in the forward direction, is detected as 20 mm or more.

Cause:

Defective OPC belt, defective OPC sensor, or there is a flaw related to the OPC home mark.

Problem:

No home mark comes within one belt cycle. The OPC home mark sensor stays off.

Cause:

Defective OPC sensor, a dirty OPC home mark surface, or a failure in tracking control.

Problem:

No encoder signal from the OPC motor.

Cause:

OPC motor error.

Problem:

OPC motor or main motor overload. Occurs when an over current of 1.2A or more flows into

the OPC motor continuously for 2 seconds or more, or when an over current of 5A or more

flows into the main motor continuously for 2 seconds or more. (LED 3 on the Main/OPC mo-

tors drive board turns on for the main motor overload. LED 4 turns on for the OPC motor

overload.)

Cause:

Increase in motor torque or load side torque.

Problem:

Tracking motor error. The sector sensor is not activated for 10 seconds or more after the

tracking motor turns on.

Cause:

Increase in motor unit torque, sector sensor error, or increase in the load side torque.

2.3.12 Troubleshooting

Problem

Probable Cause

Poor copy image, dirty background due to poor cleaning.

Insufficient operation of the back-up roller.

Too low image density on copy.

Insufficient operation of the back-up rollers.

Copy image smear, caused by OPC belt slippage.

OPC drive roller worn.

Uneven density (bands) in images, or image density changes for

every copy.

The OPC grounding brushes deteriorated or contaminated.

Residual potential (VR) is 300V or more. Due to excessive VR

compensation (the development bias increases), poor image

density is made especially on solid fill images.

The quenching lamp defective.
