2.14.11 Error reset
33 Problem: ADF original feed motor error. No pulse signal from motor for approximately 100 msec.
When this occurs, the original misfeed indicator lights on the display panel. This is not re-
corded as a misfeed in the logging data of the service tool, but is recorded as an SC. If this
is repeated 4 times, Error reset is indicated on the display panel.
Cause: Motor jam, motor encode failure.
34 Problem: ADF transport motor error. No pulse signal from motor for approximately 100 msec. When
this occurs, the original misfeed indicator lights on the display panel. This is not recorded as
a misfeed in the logging data of the service tool, but is recorded as an SC. If this is repeated
4 times, Error reset is indicated on the display panel.

2.14.12 Troubleshooting
Problem Probable Cause
Original jam Electric static on the exposure glass. The electric conductive
coating on the glass may be damaged.
Original feed failure Air volume from ADF blower not sufficient.
Original feed failure Sealing failure of the air knife control shutter (shutter solenoid
position error).
Original jam 1-way clutch failure at switchback roller pulley.
Original jam 1-way clutch failure at relay pulley.
Paper feed failure due to excessive air for the air knife when the
number of stacked originals is 10 or less.
Recycle arm height sensor remains ON.
Paper feed failure due to insufficient air for the air knife when the
number of stacked originals is 20 or more.
Recycle arm height sensor remains OFF.
