SYMPTOM
Toner scattering
CAUSE
An increment in the toner concentration in the PCDU.
<Note>
The toner concentration increases when either or both of the following conditions are met.
- Low coverage
- Long idling time
ACTION
Do the following at installation or next service visit:
1. Do the “Refresh the toner in the PCDU unit”,
1. Execute SP2-109-003 -27 (Test pattern – Full Dot Pattern for Black and Cyan :
60pages A3 / DLT, Duplex)
2. Execute SP2-109-003 -27 (Test pattern – Full Dot Pattern for Magenta and Yellow :
60pages A3 / DLT, Duplex)
Important:
Do not execute SP2-109-003 -27 for all colors in once. Too much toner will go
into the ITB cleaning unit, which will overload
2. Do the “Cleaning the machine”
1. Clean the PCDU unit for all colors.
2. Clean the ITB cleaning unit.
3. Apply the Engine firmware Ver 1.621.07 or newer and do the “SP adjustment”
procedure below.
1. Set SP 3-820-022 (Toner refresh mode – Max job end pattern) to a value of ” 1000 ”.
