Installing the Developer and Initialization Process

1. Set the specialty color toner bottle.

2. Open both front doors.

・

Keep the doors open until you finish installing the developer.

3. Remove the developer funnel cover [A] and disconnect the funnel [B] from the back of

the cover.

4. Turn on the main power switch and the DFE power switch.

・

Turning on the machine with the front doors closed prevents the machine from
performing the initial process control self-check and causes an SC. Restart the
procedure from Step 1 in this case.

5. Enter the SP mode.

Do not exit the SP mode until initial process control self-check completes.

6. Remove the developer port cap cover [A] on the front of the PCDU for the specialty

color and open the port cap [B].
