The additional raster processing is initiated after detection of an input
signal and movement of any offset distance for Axis 1. The rising edge of
the pulse is evaluated. The motion program for this raster processing
function is interrupted and continued later.
The raster program must be programmed in Task 2.
An offset distance can be programmed as an incremental movement
(POI, PSI). This command must immediately follow the
’RMI_1_0_xx.xx.x.’
Example:
Holed sheet metal is to be sorted according to hole type. At the punching
table, holes are punched in the sheet metal. Material feed is performed by
the pass rolling mill. A hole is a reference signal for raster detection.
Since an unknown change in length occurs during profiling, separation of
the sheet metal cannot be performed using the same feed program,
because it is possible that the hole pattern may drift toward the edge of
the material. For this reason, separation is performed according to the
reference hole. The reference hole can be detected using a light barrier,
approach switch, or similar mechanism.

Constraints using the RMI command:
•
The ’RMI’ command is not executed when a restart occurs.
•
The ’RMI’ command only functions correctly for feed and offset feed
operations in the direction of the positioning move (e.g. '…').
•
In Task 2 ('RMI' program), no feed operation besides the offset may
be programmed.
•
After the RMI command ('RMI_1_0_xx.xx.x') has been invoked, it is no
longer possible to mask a hole.
•
Detecting an additional raster before the command 'RMI_1_1_xx.xx.x'
is not possible.
The velocity that can be altered using the offset feed is reset to its
previous value when the feed program continues.
If the velocity indication is = 000% in the offset feed, the previous
command velocity remains valid.
The functions 'Interrupt,' 'Feed Angle Monitoring,' and 'Override' are
permitted.
