7.6 Slave Axis
If Slave Axis Mode is enabled, the slave axis executes all movements
synchronously with the master axis.
The slave axis is enabled separately for each axis in Parameter Ax00.
There, the master axis is also selected.
Possible following modes for Slave Axis 1:
1) The master axis is Master Encoder 1
Possible following modes for Slave Axis 2:
2) The master axis is Master Encoder 1
3) The master axis is Motor Encoder Axis 1
4) Slave Axis 2 is assigned the same command position values as
Axis 1.
If a movement is programmed for the slave axis in a later part of the
program, only the slave axis is moved.
The ’FOL’ command sets the ratio at which the slave axis will follow the
master axis. The ’FOL’ command is only effective if Slave Axis Mode is
enabled.
To keep the following errors to a minimum, a following error
compensation value (feedforward) can be set in Parameter Ax11.
The following conditions should be met:
1) If interrupt or feed angle monitoring is planned,
it must be programmed for both axes.
Additionally, the same input must be used for both axes.
2) For jogging, the jog buttons must only be used for the master
axis. If the slave jog buttons are pressed, only the slave axis
moves.
3) Possible positioning commands are POI, PSI, POA, PSA and
CON.
The CLM takes into account the obvious differences between the two
axes, such as encoder graduation mark, feed constants and drive
sensitivity. Measuring Wheel Mode is possible for Axis 1.
The slave factor for the slave axis can be changed using the ’FOL’
command.
