sysNodeNameModeSet [Mode]
The
sysNodeNameModeSet
command changes the FC Node Name Mode for the FC interface ports. In the
default mode (Mode 0), each FC port on the SNC 4000 has the same node name. For configurations that
require the node name to be different, use the
sysNodeNameModeSet
command to change the mode to 1.
An example configuration that requires the Node Name on each FC port to be different is where the host
has two Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) installed for redundancy. In this configuration, each HBA is connected
to a different FC port on the SNC 4000. Fail-over software on the host defines one of the HBAs as the
primary connection and the other HBA as a spare. If the primary HBA should fail, the fail-over software
routes data transfers to the SNC 4000 through the spare HBA
.
If you change the mode, you must reboot the SNC 4000 for new setting to take effect.
See also the
sysNodeNameModeShow
command.
SNC4000 > sysNodeNameModeSet 1
Please REBOOT the box to activate your new mode
value = 0 = 0x0
sysNodeNameModeShow
The
sysNodeNameModeShow
command displays the current FC Node Name mode. The default mode is
0. See the
sysNodeNameModeSet
command for further information.
SNC4000 > sysNodeNameModeShow
Active system node name mode is 1
Mode 0: Node name is the same on all FC Interfaces
Mode 1: Node name is based on port name, but different from port name
value = 1 = 0x1
sysVpdShow or sysVpdShowAll
The
sysVpdShow
command displays Vital Product data information. The Vital Product Data for the SNC
4000 includes such items as serial numbers and installed memory sizes, as shown below.
