DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS
10.19.
Group 20 – G20: Serial Communication Controls
Parameter
Name /
Description
Range
Default
value
Function
Set on
RUN
1 PROTOCOL=M
G20.1
/
Communication
protocol
M = MODBUS M = MODBUS
Selects communication protocol to be used. If you want to access to
the drive internal variables through serial port this parameter should
be set to the desired protocol.
YES
2 COMMS T/O=OFF
COMMS TIMEOUT
G20.2
/ Limit
time for
communication
OFF=0 to
25s
OFF
If this time has elapsed from the last valid data transmission a
communication timeout will be generated.
Serial communication with the drive is possible through RS232
terminals, RS485 terminals, or through optional serial
communication interfaces.
Note:
Do not modify this parameter if is not necessary.
YES
10.19.1.
Subgroup 20.3 – S20.3: Modbus
Parameter

Default
value
Function
Set on
RUN
1 COMMS ADDR=10
COMM ADDRESS
G20.3.1
/
Communication
address
1 – 240
10
Sets the identification address assigned to the drive for
communication via the Modbus network. If communication is
required with several drives a different address is required for each
unit.
YES
2 BAUDS=4800
G20.3.2
/
Communication
speed
600
1200
2400
4800
9600
4800
Sets the data transmission speed. This rating should be the same
as the rating of the master of the communication bus on which the
drive is integrated.
YES
3 PARITY=NONE
G20.3.3
/
Communication
parity
EVEN
NONE
ODD
NONE
MODBUS parity setting. Used for data validation. If you do not want
to validate data, set this parameter to ‘NONE’. Parity selection
should be the same as the parity of the master of the
communication bus on which the drive is integrated.
YES
10.19.2.
Subgroup 20.4 – S20.4: Modbus TCP
This parameter group is used to configure the drive when it must operate in an Ethernet network
communication.

G20.4.4
/
IP address (D)
0 – 255
143
Setting of the IP address assigned to the equipment in the local
network of the user. This address must be provided by the network
administrator of the own user.
The format of the IP address is the following one: A.B.C.D.
Therefore, the setting of this address is realized by introducing a
value in each parameter that configures the complete address, this
is, by assigning a value to each one of the 4 parameters (from
parameter G20.4.1 to the parameter G20.4.4).
YES

8 SUBNET D=0
G20.4.8
/
Subnet Mask
address (D)
0 – 255
0
Setting of the Subnet Mask address of the local network of the user.
This address must be provided by the network administrator of the
own user.
The format of the Subnet Mask address is the following one:
A.B.C.D.
Therefore, the setting of this address is realized by introducing a
value in each parameter that configures the complete address, this
is, by assigning a value to each one of the 4 parameters (from
parameter G20.4.5 to the parameter G20.4.8).
