Important notes prior to starting work
(see Supplement-A1 pts. 1, 2, 3 and 4))
1. Switch on p.t.o.
Always and only switch the p.t.o. drive on when all safety
devices (covers, protective aprons, casings, etc.) are
in proper condition and are attached to the machine in
their safety positions.
2. Only switch the machine on when in the
working position and do not exceed the
stipulated p.t.o. speed!
A transfer, located near the transmission,
advises the p.t.o. speed that your machine is equipped
for.
- Switch on the p.t.o. shaft at idling speed.
- Only switch on the p.t.o. shaft when the machine is at
least in the field transport position!
3. P.t.o. speed
- Max. p.t.o. speed = 540 U/min.
The most suitable shaft speed is approximately 450
r.p.m.
- If the feed is pulled by the tines from the swath back to
the stripe (unclean raking), the p.t.o. shaft speed must
be reduced.
4. Working speed
- Select a driving speed that ensures the entire crop is
picked up cleanly.
- In the case of an overload, change into a lower gear.
- In order to achieve clean raking, the rotor must be
inclined slightly towards the swath. See chapter
"Operation" for exact setting.
5. Settings and checking
- Adapt tine height to ground conditions. Tines should
lightly touch the ground. If the setting is too low, the
feed will be soiled, resp. the sward will be damaged.
- Check the setting during operation frequently.
- Check air pressure regularly!
- Check hydraulic hose lines regularly and replace them
if damaged and/or embrittled (spare parts list).
- Carry out a regular, thorough brake system inspection.
- The fixing screws must be checked at regular intervals
and re-tightened if necessary.
- Regularly check if tines are in sound condition!
Fit all tine carriers to the rotors.
- Fix tine carriers onto rotor arms and secure with linch
pin.
