Using a very fine abrasive paper (8000 grade) clean the ion burns off the
prefilters.

Wipe the prequads with a methanol dampened laboratory wipe.

Blow dry with helium or dry nitrogen.

Return the ion optics assembly to the vacuum manifold. See Removing and
Returning the Ion Optics Assembly on page 114.
