SD Card functionality was added in firmware version 8.33.

Please make sure to choose high quality cards that support the appropriate
temperature range. Format the card for FAT32.

7.16.1

Card Handling

Once the SD card is inserted into the system, the system will immediately examine the card.  If the card is
not compatible, the system will note the error.  Please use LinkComm to ensure that the card is working as
expected.  If LinkComm is not available, please verify correct operation via the LED lights on the front
panel.

The card should be left inserted in the station.

Contrast this with USB drive operations in which the USB

drive is inserted into the station, data is immediately copied, and the USB drive is then removed.

You may replace the SD card as a part of routine maintenance. Please make sure to safely remove the
card.

7.16.2

Safe Removal

Please use LinkComm to safely remove the SD card. LinkComm’s Other Setup tab contains a command to

safely eject the SD card. Issue the command first, then remove the SD card.

Failure to safely remove the card may result in SD card data becoming corrupted.

7.16.3

File System Format

The cards must be formatted for the FAT32 file system. Normally, any card that is between 2GB and 32GB
in size will be pre-formatted for FAT32. Larger cards may be re-formatted for FAT32 using a computer, but
the procedure may require the use of a special program depending on the operating system.

The station also offers a means of formatting the card. Please use the LinkComm terminal and issue the
FILE FORMAT SD command. Please see section

for more info about the commands.

7.16.4

Automatic Log Backup

The goal of the automatic log backup is twofold:



Redundant sensor data log storage



Expanded log storage space

Both features are fully automatic. Simply insert a compatible SD card into the station and leave the card
inserted. There are no configuration options.
