13. COMPUTER NETWOTK CONNECTIONS
NV-DVR3009 and NV-DVR3016 multiplexers can work in the computer network over the TCP/IP
protocol.
Attention: Novus is not a distributor of servers, routers or other network devices which have influence
on proper network operation. The user of administrator is responsible for the proper configuration of
these devices.
There are two way of establishing connection with the multiplexer:
- by means of an applet automatically downloaded from the multiplexer (described in the manual)
- by means of
N-Viewer 3000
software (described in the N-Viewer manual)
In case of connection outside the local network it may be necessary to open or reroute the ports.
Multiplexers use 6 ports for connection. Port numbers depend on the port numbers set in the
multiplexer’s network settings and is bigger by 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024
i.e. if
Web Server Port
is set to 80, the multiplexer requires additionally the following ports for
connection:
•
Live monitoring: port 2100
•
Audio: port 2101
•
Video, Playback: port 2102
•
Control: port 2103
•
Configuration: port 2104
i.e. if
Web Server Port
is set to 200, the multiplexer requires additionally the following ports for
connection: 2220, 2221, 2222, 2223, 2224
13.1 PC Requirements
Attention: In case of problems with applet loading check if in the
Internet Options
in the
General
tab,
in the
Temporary Internet Files / Settings
position the option of automatic update of stored websites is
enabled.
Additionally, it may be necessary to change browser security settings so that starting ActiveX formants,
that are not digitally signed, is possible. The best thing to do is to add the site (multiplexer’s address) to
the so called “trusted pages”.
