
Hostname
: This defaults to the host’s address. Enter a “friendly” host name for the port, if desired.
Assign IP Address
: You can choose whether to
Use DHCP
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) or
Use Static IP
.
If you select
Use DHCP
, then no other configuration is needed.
Note
In order to use DHCP, your network must be configured for DHCP. If it is not, you MUST use a static
IP address.
If you select
Use Static IP
, then you must fill in the
Static IP Address
and
Subnet Mask
. If you wish to
use the E-Alert feature (see
on page 212) or use a time server (see
on page 216), you may also need to fill in values for
Gateway
,
Primary DNS
, and
Secondary DNS
.
Note
If at any time you wish to return the
Configure Network Settings
page to its initial state, click
Reset
.
When you have selected the desired new settings, do one of the following:
Click
Save Configuration
. The settings are saved and are applied after the system is restarted (see
Click
Save and Apply Changes
. The settings are saved and applied immediately.

To verify or change E-Alert settings
1. Click the
Change E-Alert Settings
button. This takes you to the
E-Alert Settings
page.

2. Enter the address for the E-Alert sender in the
Sender email address
field.
Note
Although this can be any address that the mail server will accept as valid, you may wish to make
the sender email address unique to the unit.
3. Enter the SMTP server name in the
SMTP email server
field.
Note
You can only use a mail server name (for instance,
smtp.example.com
) if you have a domain
name server (DNS) configured (see
on page 210). Otherwise, you must use
the server’s IP address.
4. Select the email subject format using the
Email Subject format
drop-down list.
