4. Enable or disable cache mirroring by checking or unchecking the Enable cache mirroring check box.
CAUTION : If cache mirroring is turned off, data stored in the write cache may be lost if a RAID
Controller fails. It is therefore NOT RECOMMENDED that you disable cache mirroring.
5. Enable or disable write cache streaming by checking or unchecking the Write/Read cache streaming
mode check box.
6. Enable or disable preemptive write-before-read flushing by checking or unchecking the Preemptive
write-before-read flushing check box.
7. Enable or disable heuristic disk warnings by checking or unchecking Generate warnings from drive
heuristics .
8. Enable or disable third-party SCSI copy extensions by checking or unchecking SCSI third-party copy
extensions (requires reboot) .
Note If you change this setting, you will need to reboot the system after clicking the Save Settings
button. See Reboot System on page 194.
9. Select the Cache optimization setting that is most appropriate for your installation using the selection
buttons: Random access , Mixed sequential/random , or Sequential access .
Note This setting can be changed in real-time. We encourage you to experiment with this setting to
determine which configuration works best for your environment.
10. Click the Save Settings button.
A message is displayed, informing you that the settings have been updated. Click the Back button to be
returned to the Configure Cache page.
Note Some settings require the unit to be rebooted before they take effect. See Reboot System on page 194.
