Upgrading Your Server 9-17

5.25-inch Device

The server contains two slots in which SCSI backup devices such as magnetic tape drive can be
installed.

Available Devices

The 5.25-inch device slot can contain two single-height SCSI devices, or one full-height device.

To use the 5.25-inch device, connect it to optional SCSI controller board.

Setting of SCSI ID

Refer to the manual that comes with the SCSI controller.

Setting of terminator

Set the terminator to "OFF".

IMPORTANT:

No tape device can be connected to on-board SCSI

interface. To use a tape device, connect it to optional SCSI controller.
