5-8 Installing the Operating System with Express Setup

Re-installing to the hard disk which has been upgraded to Dynamic Disk

You cannot re-install Windows Server 2003 with the current partition of the hard disk upgraded to
Dynamic Disk kept remained.

If you want to keep the current partition remained, see Appendix E to re-install the system.

About maintenance partition (the area displayed as "MAINTE_P")

The maintenance partition for server maintenance is reserved in the head of Hard Disk Drive (a
partition of approximately 55MB). This area is for saving some maintenance utilities. Do not delete
the maintenance partition.

Application of Service Pack

When using Windows Server 2003 with this equipment, surely apply ServicePack 1. When
installing Windows Server 2003 R2, it is not necessary to apply Service Pack 1.
