9-36 Upgrading Your Server

Hot Remove

Take the following procedure to execute Hot Remove:

Take the following steps to stop the device driver used by the Hot-plug PCI board you
want to remove:

IMPORTANT:

Before removing a PCI board, be sure to stop the

driver of the slot (containing the PCI board) from the operating system.
Failure to do so may cause the system to fail.

(1) Double click the [Safety Remove Hardware] icon at the lower right side of the display.

Following window will be appeared.

* The message in the "Hardware devices:" depends on the location of the PCI board slot

and number of the PCI board installed..
