Tool to drive the inner bearing ring on the secondary shaft

On the cover side shaft

•

The 1st and 2nd coupling sleeve on the shaft.

•

The bushing for 1st gear with head directed towards the 2nd gear.

•

The cage complete with rolls for 1st gear on the bushing.

•

The 1st gear on the rollers cage.

•

The seal ring in the shadow grooves on the shaft.

•

The 5th gear, taking in mind that the part with fall is mounted on the seal ring.

Secondary shaft shimming

•

Fit on the 4th gear side the thrust washer, then the adjusting washer until reaching between

the adjusting washer and the 5th gear the predetermined amount of 144.7 - 145.2 mm (5.697

- 5.716 in). (For the measuring remove the O-ring between the 1st and 5th gear).

•

Install the roller bearing on the 4th gear side shaft.

•

Screw the nut on the 4th side secondary shaft with "Loctite" and then chamfer it.

•

Then fit the complete secondary shaft on the gearbox.

Fitting of control forks grooved drum on the gear-

box

Before reassembling the grooved drum in the

gearbox it is required to measure the distance be-

tween the two lateral stops "A" of the housing of

the drum, between box and cover.

This measurement must be performed in the box

and in the cover with depth gauge and must also

include the gasket thickness.

Determine now the pack "B" of the grooved drum

after inserting the dipstick, the washer of base 1

mm (0.039 in) from the clutch housing side and the

pins sealing washer on the opposite side; then in-

sert on the pins sealing washer a shim washer of

a thickness such as to obtain a measure of the

pack less than 0.2 - 0.3 mm (0.00787 - 0.01181 in)

to the measurement of the lateral stops previously

detected between the box and cover.
