Removing

The oil pump used is of the gear type and takes

the motion from the crankshaft via a chain.

•

Drain all the engine oil.

•

Remove the alternator.

•

Remove the engine pinion, the timing

system gear and the oil pump gear to-

gether with the timing chain.

•

Remove the chain tensioner.

•

Unscrew and remove the screws.

•

- Height of the gears that should be within 15.973 - 16.000 mm (0.629 - 0.630 in);

- Height of the seats on the pump casing should be within 16.032 - 16.075 mm (0.631 - 0.633 in);

If these parts are not within those values they must be replaced.
