5.3 Starting off (page *2*–*11*)
Attention! The power plug has to be pulled
from the wall socket or not plugged in for all
the actions/operations described below!
a. Take all accessories (B, C, D, E, F) and the
VC 620 M (A) backpack vacuum cleaner out of the
box (see page *2* to *5*).
The machine has a wide range of accesso-
ries. Check that the machine and accesso-
ries are complete before initial operation. Please
refer to Chapter 5.1 – Equipment drawing and
functional accessories (see page *2* to *5*).
b. Insert the rotating suction hose connection
(B 03) of the pre-assembled suction hose (B) in
the dust container lid (A 01) (1a. – see page *6*).
Use the groove on the suction hose connection
and the recess in the lid for orientation. Insert the
360° rotating connector into the lid up to the lock-
ing point until the suction hose can be rotated (1b.
and 1c. – see page *6* and *7*).
c. Then, open the locking clips (A 03) of the part-
ing line of the dust container lid (A 02) and take
off the lid (2a. and 2b. – see page *8*). The filter
bag (H) is already pre-positioned in the dust con-
tainer (A 04). Insert the vacuum cleaner bag (G)
axially into the filter bag (3a. and 3b. – see page
*9*). Make sure that the soft edge sits level on
the vacuum cleaner bag (G). Then carefully close
the parting line of the dust container lid (4a.–4c. –
see page *10* and *11*).
d. Attach the suitable functional accessory to the
45° angled handpiece of the pre-assembled suction
hose. Please refer to Chapter 5.1 – Equipment
drawing and functional accessories and Chapter 5.2
– Connections and controls (see page *2* to *5*).
e. Now put on the backpack vacuum cleaner (A)
(see page *12*–*17*).
It is important to adjust the backpack
vacuum cleaner on your body to care for the
health of your body and, if possible, to provide the
best possible load-carrying comfort. Please refer
to Chapter 5.4 – Setting.
f. Before connecting the machine to the power
outlet, make sure that the On/Off switch (A 12 –
see page *3*) is in the 0 position and then plug it in.
5.4 Setting (page *12*–*17*)
Adjust the carrying system (A 13) of the VC
620 M backpack vacuum cleaner to your
body before turning it on for the first time. This
helps to prevent health problems that might arise
from incorrect posture when working with
backpack vacuum cleaners. In addition, a properly
adjusted backpack vacuum cleaner increases
your stability during operation.

a. Loosen the load control straps (A 16), shoulder
strap belts (A 18) and hip belt stabilising straps (A
24) to their maximum width.
b. Put the backpack vacuum cleaner on (7a. – see
page *14*). Place the centre of the hip fins (A 23)
at the level of the iliac crest (S 1) (7b. – see page
*14*). Now connect the hip fins using the clip
system (25 A) (8a. – see page *14*) and tighten
the hip belt stabilising straps (8b. – see page *14*).
The padding of the hip fins should now rest on the
iliac crest (S 1).
If positioned too high, the whole hip belt (A
26) would constrict the stomach. If
positioned too low, the hip fins would chafe the
groin areas during walking.

The housing of the VC 620 M backpack
vacuum cleaner has two parting lines (A 02
and A 05 – see page *2*) to open the machine for
maintenance.
The supplied cleaning applications (D, E
and F) shown on page *5* are intended
exclusively for use with the MENZER VC 620 M
backpack vacuum cleaner. The cleaning
applications are intended for dry indoor use only.
The suction hose (B 02) with the 45° angled
handpiece (B 01), the extension suction tube (C)
and the cleaning applications can be combined as
shown in the illustrations on page *5*.
Please refer to the instructions for the functional
accessory in the following text.
Application notes for functional accessory:
B 01 – 45° angled handpiece for attaching the
extension suction tube (C) and the
cleaning applications (D, E and F)
C – Extension suction tube to extend the wor-
king length of the machine by 45–80 cm
D – Floor nozzle with rollers for flat surfaces
E – Crevice nozzle for hard to reach crevices,
corners and edges
F – Round brush for delicate surfaces,
cushions and heating elements
The cleaning applications (D, E and F) and
the extension tube (C) are attached to the
45° angled handpiece (B 01); the cone-shaped
attachment seals the connection. Be careful not to
pinch your fingers. To dismantle it, simply pull it out.
The 45° angled handpiece (B 01) and the rotatable
suction hose connection (B 03) are connected to
the suction hose (B 02) by a clip system and are
supplied pre-assembled (see page *4*). Please
refer to Chapter 5.2 – Connection elements and
operating controls.
