ATTENTION – You must
wear appropriate
protective equipment when working with a
MENZER power tool for dust-free sanding of
drywall or for low-dust cutting of plaster and
concrete surfaces. Respiratory protection,
eye protection and hearing protection must be
worn! Follow the original operating and safety
instructions of our MENZER power tools! This
requirement applies also to every other
person in the work area or who is in the
vicinity of the work area! Work of this kind is
carried out at your own risk.
• The machine may only be connected to power
sockets whose mains voltage and frequency
match the rating indicated on the nameplate of the
machine.
• First disconnect the machine from the power
supply before opening the backpack vacuum
cleaner to change the filter to minimise the risk of
electric shock. Please refer to Chapter 6 – Mainte-
nance and servicing/repairs.
• Make sure that the operating element and all
free-moving connecting elements are work-
ing properly (A 12 – see page *3* and the 360°
swivelling suction hose connection – 1d. – see
page *7*).
• Do not operate the machine when the cable, the
housing parts or other components of the equip-
ment are damaged, and contact the MENZER
service.
• Never operate the backpack vacuum cleaner
with defective or missing filter elements and/
or torn and missing dust bags or stop using the
machine immediately when these defects are
detected.
• To avoid accidents, make sure that it is not
possible to unintentionally turn on the backpack
vacuum cleaner before connecting the machine to
a power outlet.
• If the machine stops unintentionally, turn the
On/Off switch (A 12 – see page *3*) to position
0 and pull the power plug (A 11 – see page *3*)
from the socket. Refer to Chapter 7 – Fault repair
and troubleshooting and/or contact the MENZER
service.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, keep the
connecting cable (A 10 – see page *3*) away from
rotating parts in the vicinity of the backpack vacu-
um cleaner. This minimises the risk of damage to
the sheath of the cable or severing of the cable by
rotating parts and prevents the cable from winding
around your hand, arm or leg.
• If the power cable is damaged, unplug it im-
mediately.
• Do not pull the power cable over sharp edges
and do not pinch it to prevent bends and tears that
may lead to more damage because of it.
• Never unplug the machine from the wall socket
by pulling on the cable, but grip it by the plug.
Never carry or hang the machine up by the cable,
but only by the handle (A 08 – see page *2*) or
the carrying eyelet (A 14 – see page *12*) of the
carrying system on the backpack vacuum cleaner.
Please refer to Chapter 5.4 – Setting.
• Do not expose any part of the machine to ag-
gressive media such as chemicals or excessive
heat above 60 °C.
• Never make any technical modifications to the
machine.
• Only use filter bags and dust bags with the
matching dimensions recommended by MENZER.
• Make sure that the filter bag (H – see page *4*),
the vacuum cleaner bag (G – see page *4*) and all
other filters (I and J – see page *4*) are inserted
correctly and only operate the backpack vacuum
cleaner when this has been ascertained. Please
refer to Chapter 5 – General description of the
equipment and Chapter 6 – Maintenance and
servicing/repairs.
• Do not use defective or accessories not recom-
mended for this machine.
• Do not touch the power plug, connection cable
or on/off switch with wet hands.
• People and animals may not be vacuumed with
this machine.
• Small creatures such as ants, spiders and flies
may not be sucked up with this device.
• Do not vacuum near a person’s head with this
machine.
• Regularly clean the ventilation vents (A 07 – see
page *2*) on the backpack vacuum cleaner to
maintain the cooling effect.
• Do not use water or other liquid cleaning agents
to clean the machine as these can cause a fatal
electric shock.
• Disconnect the machine immediately from the
mains during breaks or at the end of work and coil
up the cable. Use the hook (A 09 – see page *3*)
on the carrying system for this purpose.
• Turn the power off immediately if unusual noises
are heard or unusual vibrations occur, and contact
our MENZER service.
• The power plug has to be pulled from the wall
socket before doing any maintenance work on the
machine!
• Turn the power off immediately when dust is es-
caping, and empty it out. Please refer to Chapter
6 – Maintenance and servicing/repairs as well as
Chapter 7 – Fault repair and troubleshooting.
4.3 Working environment
• Keep hands, hair, feet and loose clothing away
from the suction devices and/or also cover them.
• Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such
as pipes and radiators.
• Only use a suitable and undamaged extension
cord.
• Wear non-slip work shoes.
• Make sure that you stand firmly (good floor
contact and steady balance) and do not work too
far above your head because you could lose your
balance.
• Do not operate the machine near flammable
materials, as these can be ignited by sparks.
• Take note of the data sheets of the material
manufacturer of the materials that you want to
vacuum. Should spontaneously combustible or
explosive dust form, do not operate the machine
as a possible spark can have life-threatening
consequences.
• When the machine is used in hazardous areas
(e.g. filling stations, etc.) the relevant safety
instructions applicable in those areas have to be
adhered to.
• The machine may not be used in hazardous
areas.
• Make sure that your work area is always well
ventilated and well lit to avoid accidents.
