The User Interface

LomaOPC Server

Purpose

The LomaOPC Server screen is displayed by tapping on the LomaOPC icon in the

Advanced Settings

screen.

LomaOPC is one of the main management information systems in use across the range of Loma
inspection equipment. The LomaOPC application is typically installed onto a dedicated server. All
Loma machines sending reports and live data to LomaOPC will need to be on the same network layer
as this server. When LomaOPC is enabled, reports will be saved to a SQL database and live data will
be provided across the network via OPC tags.

LomaOPC uses an active message system. Messages called datasets are sent to configured
machines across the network. Server machines, such as the IQ3+ metal Detector. Need to respond to
the dataset message immediately.

The purpose of this screen is to allow you to view the latest message received by the detector from
Loma OPC, configure settings which enable the LomaOPC application to function correctly, enter or
change the communications Port number to be used by the metal detector to communicate with
LomaOPC and to view any diagnostic messages.

Screen Contents

The screen is divided into three tabs which are described below.

Latest Message

This tab shows the latest message received from LomaOPC as well as the reply sent. Statistics
on the communications between the metal detector and the LomaOPC application are also
displayed.

■

Settings

This tab displays the network address details for the metal detector and allows you to enter the
Port number to be used by the detector to communicate with the LomaOPC application.

To change the Port number, tap in the Machine port number field to display a pop-up numeric
keypad and enter the required value.
