Select Access Level
Purpose
Each User Account created in the system is assigned an access level which determines what access
they have to the different features and functionality available, preventing a user making any
unauthorised changes. See the
User Access
and
Setting User Access Levels and Passwords
sections for further details.
The Select access level screen has several purposes:
■
A currently logged in user can change to a lower access level.
■
A currently logged in user can select and log into a User Account set up at a higher access
level provided they know the password for the User Account.
■
A currently logged in user can log off.
If the ‘Auto log off’ feature has been enabled in the User Options screen and the Main Run screen is
being displayed, the current user will be automatically logged off when the timeout period expires and
the user account will be displayed as "None".
Screen Contents
The Select access level screen contains the following option radio buttons for selection:
■
0 (Log off)
Selecting this option logs the current user off.
■
All other levels
Selecting any other access level when logging in displays the User Accounts screen which
contains a list of User Accounts that have access to that level.
Selecting an account displays a pop-up ‘Enter Password’ numeric keypad so that you can enter
the appropriate password for that account.
The same functionality is provided if you wish to change from your currently logged in access
level to a higher access level. If your User Account has access to the higher level anyway, then
the User Accounts screen is not displayed.
If you wish to change from your currently logged in access level to a lower access level then the
User Accounts screen is not displayed as you will automatically have access to a lower level
anyway.
