5.3.2 Conventions
There are some options for which you can specify multiple values.
You can enter commands for a single controller (
–aN
), multiple controllers
(
-a0,1,2
) or work on all present controllers (
-aALL
). This is denoted as
–aN|-a0,1,2|-aALL
in this document and specifies that you can enter
commands for one controller, multiple controllers, or all controllers.
Note : All options in the MegaRAID Command Tool are position-
dependent, unless otherwise specified.
Table 5.2 describes the conventions used in the options.

Convention Description

Specifies “or,” meaning you can choose between options.
-aN N
specifies the controller number for the command.
-a0,1,2
Specifies the command is for controllers 0, 1, and 2. You can select two or more
controllers in this manner.
-aALL
Specifies the command is for all controllers.
-Lx x
specifies the virtual drive number for the command.
-L0,1,2
Specifies the command is for virtual drives 0, 1, and 2. You can select two or
more virtual drives in this manner.
-Lall
Specifies the command is for all virtual drives.
