6 - WORKING OPERATIONS
Header flotation adjustment
NOTE: Adjust the relief system at both sides. The re-
lief springs are not necessarily tightened equally on each
side.
To adjust the relief of the header, proceed as follows:
1. Remove linchpin (2) .
2. Lift the lock (1) off the wheel frame.
3. Use the lock (1) to turn the spindle (4) . The handled
crank (3) in the tongue toolbox can also be used to
turn the spindle (4) .
NOTE: Turn the handle clockwise to tighten the spring and
reduce the ground pressure of the header.

Tighten or loosen the springs until the weight on the
ground is approximately
40 – 50 kg ( 88 – 110 lb ) in each
side.
To measure the weight on the ground, proceed as
follows:
1. Install the spring scale to the hole (5) on the header.
2. Lift the implement since the weight is between 40 –
50 kg ( 88 – 110 lb ).
3. If necessary adjust the spindle (4) to set the weight.
4. Remove the spring scale. Install the spring scale on
the other side of the header.
5. Lift the implement since the weight is between 40 –
50 kg ( 88 – 110 lb ).
6. If necessary adjust the spindle (4) to set the weight.
7. Remove the spring scale from the header.
8. Lower the header completely.

After the adjustment, place the lock (1) above the spindle
(4) again, and lock with the linchpin (2) .

The size of the relief is only a guide. Always adjust the
size of the relief to the ground and to the way of driving.
At intervals, check that the implement is working with the
correct relief. Terrain and grass on the cutter bar and the
rest of the header may change the relief considerably.
