Control of balance
When you drive in the field always pay attention if the
implement starts vibrating more than usually or if the
implement has jarring sounds.
NOTE:
The first time you start the implement pay attention
to vibrations and noise to have a standard of comparison
later.
NOTICE:
The discs run at up to
3000 RPM
, and one bro-
ken blade may cause serious injury to persons or mate-
rial damage resulting from unbalance. If you work with a
modern closed cabin, the symptoms may be difficult to dis-
cover, and once in a while you have to get out and check
if all blades and rotor fingers are intact. In the long run un-
balance will cause fatigue fractures and serious damage.
All the implements have been manufactured, tested and
checked for vibrations with special tools.
To avoid damage caused by vibrations, fasten the cutter
bar properly to the frame.
To fasten the cutter bar, remove the outermost guide
shoes
(1)
. Torque the nuts on the bolts
(2)
that go
through both cutter bar and frame to
110 N·m
(
81.1 lb
ft
).
NOTE:
The bolts that are placed where there are carvings
in the frame should not be retightened. These are only in-
tended to hold the cutter bar together and do not go through
the frame.
Check at regular intervals bolts
(3)
at guide shoes and
shear bars on the cutter bar.
