Field limiting aperture
The field limiting aperture is used to limit an area on the specimen for observing a
diffraction diagram.
1.
Set the FUNCTION (R1-
②
) to SA MAG, MAG1 or MAG2.
2.
Select a magnification to be used using the MAG/CAM L knob (R1-
⑤
).
3.
Manipulate aperture assembly knob 1 to insert an aperture to be used.
4.
Clarify the aperture (shadow) on the fluorescent screen using the DIFF
FOCUS knob (R1-
⑦
).
?
This cannot be done in the MAG mode.
5.
Select a FIELD view to be observed using control panel SC (
F
Sect. 4.2.5).

The last four digits indicate the film number and the first two are optionally
entered for other identification, refer to Sect. 4.4.6e.
⑤
Micron bar
The calibrated length of the bar corresponds to the length on the specimen. This
does not appear in the DIFF mode.
5.2.6b Manual
exposure
Use this method if the exposure time is to be freely set without using the exposure meter
(when a diffraction pattern is to be photographed etc.).
1.
Turn off the AUTO switch (R1-
⑧
) or remove the check mark in the “Auto
Exposure” box of the “Film Camera Property” screen (
F
Sect. 4.4.6e) to
obtain the manual exposure mode.
