3.2.2 Standard Function - Tempering
Function
Tempering takes place using a radial fan as well as a round heat-
ing element in the upper part of the equipment. The radial fan en-
sures constant air circulation and keeps the temperature distribu-
tion in the incubation chamber as constant and gradient-free as
possible.
The maximum possible temperature in the incubation chamber is
65°C, the minimum temperature is 5°C above the ambient temper-
ature. In order to reach temperatures below the ambient tempera-
ture, the equipment can be fitted with an optional cooling system
(see chapter 3.2.3 "Optional Cooling Function", page 24),
A temperature sensor in the area of the radial fan measures the
temperature and controls heating or cooling.
Operation
The heater is operated using the “Temperature” (
°C
) parameter.
For an exact description of how to set the parameters see chapter
7.4 "Adjusting, Activating and Deactivating Parameters", page 56.
3.2.3 Optional Cooling Function
As the equipment is self-heating, an individual unit can be operated
at a temperature of approx. 5°C above the ambient temperature
without a cooling system. For processes that require temperatures
significantly lower than this temperature, the equipment can be fit-
ted with internal cooling or an optional external cooling system.
In both versions, the heat exchanger is on the back wall of the
equipment. To retrofit the equipment with a cooling system, the
back wall can be dismantled and replaced with a prefabricated
back wall with a heat exchanger. To do this, contact INFORS HT
(see contact details on page 2).
