3. Try

. The following message is received:

s1term: 0026-645 The S1 port in frame 1 slot 8 cannot be accessed.
It either does not exist or you do not have S1 permission.

4. Check the RS-232 cable from node 8 to the switch:

If a cable is loose, securing it will cause spmon to show node 8.

2.5.7 Example — spmon Will Not Start

The actions to be taken will depend on the error message displayed by the
spmon GUI when it fails.

1. Check that the hardmon daemon is running.
