Sensor installation faults
The moisture display reading being excessively low, or excessively high, or not changing
at all would normally suggest a fault.
This may be caused by...
faulty interconnecting wiring – most common error
blown DC fuse in Hydro-View
sensor in wrong position
faulty sensor
faulty Hydro-View
The following steps should help to locate the fault.
1. Carefully check the wiring to the sensor in accordance with the information given in
Figure 21
(p58). Take particular care with the cross-over between pins 2 and 3 of the
Bulgin connector and terminals 2 and 3 at the Hydro-View. Also ensure that the two
ground connections at pin 3 of the Bulgin are made correctly and that stray wire
strands from the cable shield are not shorting to other pins within the Bulgin
connector.
2. Disconnect the sensor from the Hydro-View by unplugging the terminal block. Use a
voltmeter to check the sensor power supply voltages at terminals 1-2 (+14.5 to
+15.5Vdc) and 3-2 (-14.5 to -15.5Vdc) at the rear of Hydro-View. If this test fails, the
