CF card 2 of a USG device supports hot swap. Therefore, before replacing CF card 2 of a
USG device, press the CF OFL button on the panel of the MPU/SRU.

l

CF card 2 lies on the panel of the MPU/SRU, so you do not need to pull out the
MPU/SRU before replacing CF card 2.

l

When CF card 2 is replaced, the device log and alarm information cannot be stored.

Tool

Before replacing CF card 2, you need the following tools:

l

ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves

l

ESD bag

Procedure

Step 1

Check the location of the CF card to be replaced.

Before pulling out the CF card that is to be replaced, check the location of the CF card, that is,
the cabinet and chassis where the CF card resides. Then locate the MPU/SRU whose CF card
is to be replaced and label the MPU/SRU.

Step 2

Press the CF OFL button on the panel of the MPU/SRU for about 6 seconds until the CF ACT
indicator turns off.

Step 3

Open the shielding can on the CF card, as shown in 

Figure 3-43

 (1). Press the button on the

CF card 2 jack, as shown in 

Figure 3-43

 (2). The CF card automatically pops out. Remove

the CF card, as shown in 

Figure 3-43

Place the removed CF card in the ESD bag.
