l
If the ESN of the MPU/SRU to be replaced is not used to apply for a license file, you
need to reapply for a license file. For details, see Applying For a License File.
Step 3
Save the current configuration.
Run the
save
command to save the current configuration.
Run the
compare configuration
command to compare the saved configuration file and the
current configuration file.
Step 4
Save the startup software package and configuration file on the to-be-replaced MPU to the
local PC.
1.
Run the
ftp
command to establish a connection with the remote FTP server, namely, the
local PC.
2.
Run the
put
xxx.cc command to save the startup software package to the local PC.
3.
Run the
put
vrpcfg.zip command to save the configuration file to the local PC.
Step 5
Prepare a new MPU/SRU and check whether there is any bent pin in the connector.
Step 6
Check the location of the MPU/SRU to be replaced.
Before pulling out an MPU/SRU that is to be replaced, determine the location of the MPU/
SRU, that is, the cabinet, chassis, and slot where the MPU/SRU resides. The USG9500 have
two MPUs/SRUs.
l
The MPUs of the USG9520 reside in slots 4 and 5.
l
The SRUs of the USG9560 reside in slots 9 and 10.
l
The MPUs of the USG9580 reside in slots 17 and 18.
Locate the MPU/SRU to be replaced in the chassis and label the MPU/SRU.
Step 7
Check whether the MPU/SRU to be replaced is the active MPU/SRU.
Run the
display device
command to check the slot number of the current MPU/SRU. If the
MPU/SRU to be replaced is the active one, you must run the
slave switchover
command on
the console interface to force the active/standby switchover. If the output is displayed as
follows on the console interface, the switchover is successful. Then run the
display device
command to check the slot number of the MPU/SRU after the active/standby switchover. If
the MPU to be replaced is the standby MPU, these operations are unnecessary.
