To play or stop a tune simply press any CR key
above the word “play”. Key-presses of the
CR-key above the minus sign will decrease the volume, above the plus sign will increase
the volume. The reaching of the minimum or maximum value is indicated by a sound signal.
The volume is adjusted in 16 steps.
Pressing the CR key above the small character causes the current piece of music to play
from the beginning. Press again to jump to the previous track. Pressing the CR key above
the magnifier moves to the next track.
When the player is playing music, press [TLC] or {Esc} to return to the menu and continue
working with the Actilino. Playback continues. Thus, e.g. edit files and listen to the Actilinos
music. To return to the player, press [SPC + 1 4 7 8].

(G)ames
To facilitate the learning of Braille with Actilino, we have implemented a game. At the game
“
(H)angman
” you have to guess the letters composing a word.

(H)angman
This is a variation of the classic game of Hangman, in which the Actilino generates a mystery
word. Your goal is to guess the word by finding its individual letters.
When
(H)angman
starts, there will be a number of dots on the Braille display. Each dot
represents a letter of the mystery word. Now it is time to make your first guess by typing a
letter on the Braille keyboard on the Actilino or, alternatively, on an external USB keyboard.
If the letter you typed in is a part of the mystery word, then all instances of it will be revealed
on the Braille display and you will hear a little victory sound. On the other hand, if the letter
you typed in is not part of the mystery word, you will lose a point and hear a little warning
sound. With every point you lose, the warning sound will increase in pitch. To win the game,
you will have to reveal the entire word. In this case the Actilino shows
’Congratulations!
You have won!

You lose the game when you make 7 wrong guesses. In both cases the
game is over and you have to restart it by calling the menu item. To exit the game at any
time, simply press Chord e (or {Ctrl+e} on an external keyboard).
The solution words are saved in the /HTSYS/LANGUAGE folder on the SD card. Each
selectable language can have its own file. The name of the file is built according to the
following scheme: "Language_hangman.lst". If there is no file for the selected language,
"English (US)_
hangman.lst“ will be used automatically.
You can add your own words to these files or add for a file for a specific language. Please
note that a word consists of a maximum of 16 letters and only lowercase letters are allowed.
After each word, there must be a newline character (CR/LF). After editing the file, you must
re-start the Actilino for the changes to take effect.

(P)C mode
This menu command activates Braille display mode. During the startup of the screen reader
program, the PC mode is activated automatically. Activating PC Mode via the menu is
necessary only if you have previously switched from PC Mode into menu mode with [SPC+1
3 4] (Chord m).
