• Carrier (183) for excessive wear or scoring. If
the ends are worn or scored, or the wear pat­
tern on any of the roll drive faces is greater
than 1.52 mm (0.06 inch) in width, the carrier
must be replaced.
• Roller vanes (184). Inspect each of the ten rolls
for pitting, scoring, or wear oh the OD surfaces.
• Port plate (180). Excessive scoring or galling is
not typical. The plate can be hand polished with
the maximum material removal, of 0.002 mm
(0.0001 inch). Replacement is required for more
severe1 wear.
• Seals (178 and 179) for cracking or excessive
swelling.
• End plate (177) for cracks in the area of the
sealing rings.
•Control valve (190) assembly. It is difficult to
visually determine if internal valve components
are faulty. Low pressure may be a sign for valve
replacement. The valve must move smoothly in
the valve bore. Minor polishing of the valve OD
with the maximum material removal of 0.002
mm (0.000T inch) is acceptable.
BEARING REPLACEMENT
Disassemble (Figure 1)
• Shaft (166) from the bearing (164) using an arbor
press.
Assemble (Figure 1)
• Shaft (166) to the new bearing (164) using an arbor
press. Support the press load on the INNER RACE
ONLY. Permanent damage will result if the outer
race is loaded during the press operation.
CARRIER REPLACEMENT
