• Bolts to 18 N-m (160 in. lbs.).

CYLINDER HEAD INSTALLATION

pi|y| Clean

• Gasket Surfaces on block and cylinder head.

I Install or Connect (Figures 75, 76, and 77)

1. Head gasket.

• Use no sealer on composite gaskets.
• Place the gasket in position over the dowel piris

with the bead up.

. Cylinder head. Carefully guide the cylinder head ,

into place over the dowel pins and head gaskets.

3. Cylinder head bolts. Coat the threads of the bolts

with sealing compound (Loctite #592 or equivalent)

and install finger tight. :

Q Tighten

• Bolts in three steps using the sequence shown

in figure 77.

A. The first sequence to 40 N-m (30 ft. lbs.).

B. The second sequence to 80 N-m (60 ft. lbs).

C. The final torque sequence to 110 N-m (80 ft.

lbs.).
