17. Spacer (9) with the slot aligned with the exhaust
port in the bottom cap.

20. Piston (11) into the sleeve.

• The V-cup seal lips must face the unloader nut.
21. A non-hardening sealing compound to the unloader
nut threads.

22. Insert , an 11 mm (7/16 inch) diameter rod-through
the exhaust port of the bottom cap to align the slot
in the spacer with the unloader port opening.

Clean
• All metal parts with mineral spirits or another Suit
able solvent.
• All old thread sealer from the port; threads.
Inspect
• All metal parts for severe corrosion, pitting, and
cracks.
• Nut (13) to 81 N-m (60 ft. lbs.).

26. Copper gasket (25).
27. Check valve spindle (26).
28. Spring (27).
29. Copper gasket (28).

Tighten
, • Nut (29) to 81 N-m (60 ft. lbs.).
— Minor corrosion and/or pitting on the exterior of
the upper and lower cases is allowed.
• Bores of the end cover and purge valve housing for
deep scuffing or gouges. Replace as needed.
•All purge valve housing and end cover passages
are open and free of obstructions. Clean as need
ed.
• Purge va|ve housing bore and seats for wear and
scuffing. Replace if found.
• Purge valve piston seat for excessive wear.
Replace if found.

1. Lubricate all O-rings, O-ring grooves, and bores
with barium base lubricant.
2. Assemble purge valve assembly (21).

down on the purge piston.
