Port flow control
Tell the terminal when to start and
stop sending data to the device
None
, Xon/Xoff or Hardware
Note:
XON/XOFF flow control relies on embedding special characters as part of the data
stream to tell the terminal when to start and stop sending data. The XOFF character
(13H) is used to tell the terminal to stop sending data. The XON character (11H)
tells the terminal to begin sending data again.
Hardware flow control is achieved by raising and lowering the voltage levels on the
RTS and CTS signal lines of the RS-232 serial interface between the SC-ADT
device and the terminal. Hardware (or RTS/CTS) flow control is generally preferred
over XON/XOFF flow control with high speed circuits.
Port DTR idle state
Specifies the level of the DTR lead
when no session is active to the
port. When Inactive, the lead is off.
