Craft Port / Contact Sense Ports
(Interface “D” in
)
The SC-ADT Craft (or console) port is provided by the RS-232-compatible DB25 connector at the
rear shelf slot. This interface supports 9600bps asynchronous data and provides terminal interface
control of the unit by direct connection to a local VT100-compatible ASCII terminal. Connection
to the Craft port requires a DB25-to-RJ45 adapter (GDC P/N 029H210-001).
The DB-25 connector at the rear shelf slot can also serve as the Contact Sense interface to connect
up to eight contact relays for sensing user-defined contact alarms as Normally Open (NO) or
Normally Closed (NC). Connection to the dry contacts of the external devices requires a DB25-to-
wirewrap cable (GDC P/N 025H001-025) or a customer-supplied cable.
•
When using the GDC wirewrap cable, use Pin 7 for GND (Contact Signal 8). Wire color codes
are listed in the table below.
•
When using a customer-supplied cable, use Pin 13 for GND (Contact Signal 8).
describes DB25 interface pinouts for the craft function or the contact sense function.
Both functions are supported at this interface simultaneously.

For more information on Contact Sense, refer to
