4. If desired, enter an alphanumeric description for the individual contact by typing: 

configure ports description p

Note

If a space is desirable in the description, you must use a double-quoted string, as shown above.

5. Enable the individual contact by typing:

configure ports enable p

6. The system message will indicate that contact sensing has started for that port.

 for each dry contact device to be monitored by the SC-ADT.

7. Disable any unused ports at the front panel interface by typing:

configure ports disable p

8. The SC-ADT is now monitoring the enabled input contact ports at the front panel connector.

To view the current configuration parameters and status of all contact interfaces including 
current state and alarm status, type: 

show ports general

To manually clear an active alarm condition, type:

 configure ports clear p

If the condition persists after clearing the alarm, a new alarm is generated, sending a new SNMP trap
