Note :- To minimize interference a shielded cable should be used with metal backshells for the
connectors. Connect the shield to both the metal backshell and pin 1 of the installation at both en ds of
the cable.

3 .3 .1 General.
The GS8920’s extensive range of printed outputs may be enhanced by the inclusion of time and date.
Additionally, the GS8920’s usefulness can be expanded substantially by the addition of an item price
entry and piece counting facility. Both of these facilities, time/date and Item Entry/Pricing, are
provided by the factory installation of Option
BR2
which includes a calendar/clock as well as the
battery supported memory necessary for the item entry facility.
Option
BR2
, installed within the GS8920 at the factory prior to shipment, provides a battery backed
high precision digital clock. The format in which the time and date are printed is settable by the user.
The Optional BR2 is YEAR 2000 COMPLIANT from October 1997 for all GS8920 Printers showing
the software issue SA2.0 or higher at power up.
