A complete weight ticket is then printed. If the GS8920 has been set up for parts counting and item
entry, then the quantity and price per unit weight will need to be entered prior to the GS8920 printing a
ticket. After the ticket is printed, the tare register is cleared. Used also as numeral 4.
CODE WT/5 Key.
This key has 3 uses which depend upon the GS8920’s display at the time the
CODE/WT
key is
operated. The 3 uses are :-
1
To access the active accumulator’s material code number.
2
To access the active tare register’s tare weight.
3
To access the GS8920’s ALPHA Name Table facility.
1
. If the GS8920’s display contains the number of the active accumulator in the form
Ac 08
then
keying
CODE/WT
will immediately display the material code number for that accumulator. The
GS8920 will be in the numeral entry mode and the numeral keys may be used to enter a 6 digit
material code. The key
ENTER
will save the code. If the GS8920’s ALPHA Name Table facility were
turned on at installation a code number in the range 101 to 150 will gain access to the ALPHA Name
Table routines. Also, entering a material code in the range 1 to 50 will cause the GS8920 to use a
material description for the accumulator from the ALPHA Name Table.
This key may be locked out, in which case the GS8920 will display
-Locd-
following operation of the
CODE
key. The material code number will be displayed but it will not be possible to change it or to
gain access to the GS8920’s ALPHA Name Table. ( For more details refer to “
Using and Entering
Alpha Names
” and “
Security Interlock Switch
”.)
2
. If the GS8920’s display contains the number of the active tare register in the form
tr 34
then keying
CODE/WT
will immediately display the tare weight in that tare register. The GS8920 will be in the
numeral entry mode and the numeral keys may be used to enter a 6 digit tare weight followed by the
ENTER
key to save the tare weight which will be checked by the GS8920 for legal range. If the tare
register has been used to store a “weigh in” weight then it cannot be changed at the keyboard. The
GS8920 will display
-Locd-
following operation of the
CODE
key and will then display the tare
weight. The GS8920 will not be in the numeral entry mode and the displayed tare cannot be changed.
3
. With any accumulator number displayed, entry of a number in the range 101 to 150 gains access to
the GS8920’s ALPHA Name Table routines which are fully described in the paragraph “
Using and
Entering Alpha Names
”
SEC REG/6 key.
Operation following the
CLEAR
key prints the weights, quantities and prices in the security register
and then clears the security register. Only the security register is cleared. The accumulator registers 1
to 50 are not cleared.
Operation following the
key prints a ticket with the weights, quantities and prices in the
security register. Used also as numeral 6.
Quantities and prices are only printed if they are not zero and if the GS8920 was delivered with Option
BR2 installed and the item entry feature was enabled during installation.
Operation of the security register key can be disabled via a user supplied and remotely mounted
keyswitch connected to the GS8920’s interlock input. Refer installation section for details.
TO TALS/7 Key.
Operation following the
CLEAR
key prints a ticket with the weights, quantities and prices in all 50
accumulator registers. The accumulators are then cleared. The security register is not cleared. Operation
following the
key prints a ticket with the weights, quantities and prices in all 50 accumulator
registers. Used also as numeral 7.
Quantities and prices are only printed if they are not zero and if the GS8920 was delivered with Option
BR2 installed and the item entry feature was enabled during installation. Only accumulators which
contain a weight are printed.
