1 .5 .4 Names for Ticket Headings.
The names numbered 49 and 50 are printed, in that order, as ticket headings. This facility is set up
during installation of the GS8920 and cannot be changed during normal operation of the GS8920
although the names themselves can be changed as shown below. An example of the use of this facility
would be the name of the company using the GS8920 printer :-
Acme Meat Co
New York
These two lines of page headings may be printed “normal” size or “enhanced” size. The size as well as
the use of these names as ticket headings is determined on installation of the GS8920 and cannot be
changed during normal operation.
1 .5 .5 Names/Numbers for each Accumulator as Material Codes.
1 .5 .5 .1 General
Each of the GS8920’s 50 accumulators contains a code register in which a 6 digit numeral may be
stored. If the GS8920’s alpha name facility was turned off at installation then the number in this
register can be 1 to 999,999 and it will be this number that is printed as a material code for the
accumulator.
If the GS8920’s alpha code facility was turned on at installation then the number in the accumulator’s
code register is used either as a numeral code OR to assign a name from the alpha name table to the
accumulator.
If the code number is 1 to 50 then it will refer to an alpha name of that number. The alpha name will
be printed whenever the accumulator is printed.
If the number is 151 to 999,999 it will be treated just as a number and it will be printed as a numeric
code whenever the accumulator is printed.
The numbers 101 to 151 have a special use. They are never actually saved as a material code number
but they are entered in the same way as a code number and they are used to access the GS8920’s alpha
name table routines.
When entering new alpha names or changing existing names, the numbers 101 to 150 gain access to
the names which are numbered 1 to 50.
NOTE :-
Access to the accumulator’s material codes and ALPHA name table may be interlocked via
a remote key switch. In this event the message
-Locd-
will be displayed on any attempt to access the
material codes and access will be denied.
1 .5 .5 .2 Giving an Accumulator a Numeral Material Code. (Entering a Code Number.)
To give an accumulator a number as a material code first select the accumulator by keying
AC
followed by the accumulator’s number and then by the
ENTER
key to make the selected accumulator
active.
Now key
CODE/WT
to display the current material code number attached to this accumulator. To
enter the new material code number use the numeral keys to enter any 1 to 6 digit number followed by
ENTER
to save the code.
1 .5 .5 .3 Giving an Accumulator a 12 Character Description as a Material Code.
Using a printed list of the names in the GS8920’s memory, select a name and note its reference
number. It will be this number, in the range 1 to 50, which is entered into the accumulator’s code
register to assign that name to the accumulator.
First select the accumulator by keying
AC
followed by the accumulator’s number and then by the
ENTER
key to make the selected accumulator active.
Key
CODE/WT
to display the current material code number or assigned name then use the numeral
keys to enter the number of the name that is to be assigned to the accumulator followed by
ENTER
to
save the assignment.
