5.1.6.6 Glideslope Advisory Messages

G/S1 SERVICE – G/S1 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The G1000 has detected a
failure in G/S1 receiver.
Replace GIA1.
G/S2 SERVICE – G/S2 needs
service. Return unit for repair.
The G1000 has detected a
failure in G/S1 receiver.
Replace GIA2.
G/S1 FAIL – G/S1 is inoperative.
The G1000 has detected a
failure in G/S1 receiver.

Switch GIA1 and GIA2 to verify
location of problem:

If problem follows the unit,
replace GIA.

If problem does not follow
unit, check G/S1 antenna
and cabling.
G/S2 FAIL – G/S2 is inoperative.

Ensure that no cell phones or devices in the cabin using cell phone
technology are turned on or in a monitoring state before starting GPS
troubleshooting procedures.
