2.6.3 Checking the Stenosis Alarm
Test set-up:

• Set the minute volume adjuster (MV) to 10 L/min.
• Set the frequency adjuster (Freq.) to 10 1/min.
• Set the Air Mix/ No Air Mix selector to the "Air Mix" position.
• Set the airway pressure adjuster (Paw) to right end stop.
• During the inspiratory phase, use the adjustable resistor to set an
airway pressure of approx. 30 mbar (hPa) (Note: Read airway pressure
on pressure gauge of Oxylog 1000).
• During the inspiratory phase, slowly close the ventilation hose further
using the adjustable resistor until the indicator turns red (Paw high).
The "Paw high" switching point is at 50 to 60 mbar (hPa) (read the switching
point on the pressure gauge of Oxylog 1000 and on the separate pressure
gauge).
• Set the airway pressure adjuster (Paw) to left end stop and repeat the
test.
The "Paw high" switching point is at 21 to 28 mbar (hPa) (read the switching
point on the pressure gauge of Oxylog 1000 and on the separate pressure
gauge).
