11 Fetal ECG and Intrauterine

Pressure (optional)

11.1 Overview

AMPS-1 simulates fetal ECG and intrauterine pressures as observed during labour.

The simulated fetal signal represents a measurement from a fetal scalp electrode on the
normal ECG leads.

The intrauterine pressure (IUP) waveform simulates the measurements of a pressure
transducer during contractions. Transducer sensitivity can be set to either 5 or
40

V/V/mmHg for this simulation.

11.2 Available Settings

Press ENTER after selecting a parameter to activate that setting.

11.2.1 Fetal Heart Rates

• 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, 210, and 240 BPM

11.2.2 Fetal Heart Rate Variation

• Uniform, early and late deceleration

11.2.3 Dynamic Intrauterine Pressure (IUP) waveform

• Positive bell-shaped pressure curve

11.2.4 Peak Intrauterine Pressure

• 25, 50 and 100 mmHg

11.2.5 Contraction Duration

• 90 seconds
