13 AMPSpc Companion Software

13.1 Overview

AMPSpc

, companion software to AMPS-1, allows you to program power-on default

settings for 20 simulation parameters of AMPS-1.

AMPSpc

also allows you to create or

modify up to 10 Auto setups for rapid selection of multi-parameter patient simulations.
Once created or updated in

AMPSpc

, power-on and Auto settings may then be

transferred to AMPS-1 via RS-232.

13.2 Connecting AMPS-1 to a PC

Connect the serial communications cable (P/N 3140-429) provided with AMPS-1 to
the DB9/RJ12 adapter (P/N 3140-426).

Connect the DB9 of the adapter to a serial communications port ("COM Port") on your
PC, and insert the other end of the cable into RS-232 port of AMPS-1.

Power up AMPS-1 by pressing the POWER pushbutton. AMPS-1 will power up in
ALPHA mode by default, but AMPS-1 will communicate with your PC from either
ALPHA or NUMERIC mode. There is no need to set AMPS-1 to a particular mode
for computer communications.

After installing AMPSpc from the CD (supplied), run the program by double-clicking
on the "AMPSpc" icon on your desktop. Click the SETTINGS tab of

AMPSpc

, then

select the appropriate communications port (COM Port) from the drop-down menu
(
