When the temperature goes down and reaches the start temperature, the minimum on time is maintained
until the stop temperature is reached. Cool cells (or cooling pads) could operate according to outside tem-
perature. In such a case, the operation is exactly the same as described above, except that the tempera-
ture that EDGE considers is the outside temperature instead of the inside temperature,
Each cooling system operates primarily according to the average temperature of its respective group of
assigned inside sensors. An exception to this is that the set point of a cooling cell or pad system can be a
target outside temperature, where the outside temperature directly controls the operation of the system.
Some prerequisites or some optional conditions might have to be met for the cooling system to operate.
Amongst these conditions, there is animal age, outside temperature and time of day.
Current sensing
Current sensing can be used for the following reasons:
• To make sure the pump functions when it is set to function
• To make sure the pump doesn’t run dry
• To validate the operating time
• To make sure valves are activated or deactivated when they are set to activate or deactivate in order
to coordinate valves and pump operations. For example, pumps should not run if the water supply
valve is not powered on.
Cooling page and tile information
All the information concerning cooling equipment is displayed by pressing on a cooling tile in a house/
barn where cooling equipment is configured.
Cooling tile information
Cooling tile displays the number of cooling outputs currently running
Cooling page information
The following information is displayed in a cooling page
:
Cooling
device
Name of the cooling system (cool cell, fogger, high pressure mist, or mist) as entered when the
equipment was configured
Status
Status of the cooling device (bypassed, trouble, alarm, relative humidity compensation, on/off).
Note that only misting systems are used to increase relative humidity
Start
Temperature at which a cooling device starts at its minimum operating time
Stop
Temperature at which a cooling device stops (turns off). Stop temperature must be at least 0.5°
lower than start temperature
Max (in table
on left hand
side)
Temperature at which a cooling device reaches its maximum operating time.
T°
Average temperature currently measured by the assigned sensors
Run 24h
The amount of time the cooling device has been On in the past 24 hours
Control
probes
The names of the sensors used by the selected output, as entered during their configuration
