Minimum ventilation change can be induced by one of the following:
• Animal growth when using an age ventilation curve
• Animal population change when using CFM per head ventilation
• When the minimum ventilation is corrected (for an adjustable period of time) in the ventilation page.
This is a temporary change which needs a return to exact original settings after the timer expires.
• When the minimum ventilation is modified in the ventilation setup page (when not using a ventilation
curve) is modified.
• Relative humidity compensation
Increase of minimum ventilation inducing a stage shift
If a change in the minimum ventilation requirements of a 6 stage system increases, and the ventilation
floor can’t be supplied by stage 1, stage 2 now plays the role of stage 1. This means the system must
now behave as a 5 stage system. Operation of “original” stage 1 is not allowed anymore . A change like
this induces an automatic start/stop/max table recalculation using controller specific formulas. The
system bandwidth stays the same. House/barn temperature set point is now stage 2 start temperature.
Decrease of minimum ventilation inducing a stage shift
Minimum ventilation floor can also be decreased inducing a stage shift. For example, a 6 stage system;
the minimum ventilation requirements increased and the system now uses 5 stages (as described
above). You now want to decrease minimum ventilation manually in the ventilation setup. The keypad pro-
vides you with the following information: "Minimum ventilation can be set to [1485-2970], [4700-9600],
[10300-15900] CFM". You are provided with the CFM limits of the first 3 physical stages in the house/
barn. If you set a minimum ventilation value within the stage 1 range, the system resumes to a 6 stages
and the start/stop/max table is regenerated. If there were offsets saved for a 6 stage operation, they must
be applied. In other words, if bandwidth and house/barn set point temperature did not change, the system
returns to its original setting.
Bandwidth values and stage limits
The bandwidth of a stage is the number of degrees between the start temperature of that stage and the
start temperature of the next stage. Taking these rules into consideration, the system’s overall bandwidth
is limited to the confines of these four rules:
• Stage BW ≥ 0.5°F
• Stage start - stage stop ≥ 0.3°F (variable capacity stage)
• Stage start - stage stop ≥ 0.5°F (fixed capacity stage)
• Stage start T° ≤ 120.0°F
NOTE:
A cell in the grid with a temperature over 120.0°F is red in order to warn you that the grid
might be configured with temperatures that are too high.
Bandwidth change can be induced by one of the following:
A temporary change of ventilation function bandwidth is induced by the following:
• Modifying the bandwidth in the ventilation page. This change is temporary and needs to return to the
exact original settings after the timer expires
A permanent or system-induced bandwidth change is caused by one of the following:
