Chart Symbols:

related parts. If necessary, correct,
clean, replenish, adjust or replace.

(1) If the vehicle is operated under
severe conditions (driving in heavy
rain, high humidity, or dusty
conditions), inspect the drive belt
every 5,000 km (3,000 miles) or
every 3 months and change every
20,000 km (12,000 miles) or every
1 year, whichever comes first.
(2) If the vehicle is operated under
severe conditions (short distance
driving, extensive idling or driving
in dusty conditions), change the
engine oil and the filter every
5,000 km (3,000 miles) or every 3
months, whichever comes first.
(3) If the vehicle is operated under
dusty driving conditions, inspect
the air cleaner element every
5,000 km (3,000 miles) or every 3
months. If necessary, correct,
clean or replace.
(4) See "Recommended Fluids and
Lubricants".
(5) After the initial replacement (at
100,000 km or 60,000 miles or 5
years), change every 40,000 km
(24,000 miles) or every 2 years.
(6) If the vehicle is operated under
dusty driving conditions, more
frequent maintenance is required.
(7) If the vehicle is mainly operated
under severe conditions (hilly or
mountainous terrain, or frequent
trailer towing), change the brake
fluid every 15,000 km (9,000
miles).
(8) If the vehicle is operated under
severe conditions (short distance
driving, extensive idling, frequent
low-speed operation in stop-and-
go traffic, or driving in dusty
conditions), more frequent main-
tenance is required.
