This is an opportunity to reject an incorrect count. To accept the data, select the
YES button.
To reject the data select the NO button. You will then return to the previous step in the count
sequence. Note that this data validation step is required after any count in the thyroid
counting sequence to confirm the count data before it is saved. Once the data has been
saved, it cannot be deleted from the patient result file.
If you have selected “Measure Each Capsule and Add Activities” from the Multiple Capsule
Administration protocol, then the Figure 6-25 will appear again. It will be labeled, “Measure
Capsule # 2 in Phantom at 25 cm.” The screen will reappear as many times as the number
of capsules listed on the patient demographic data screen, until all of the capsules have been
counted. If two repetitions have been selected, each capsule will be counted twice. For
example, if three capsules are administered with two repetitions, then Figure 6-25 will appear
six times. The counts will be labeled appropriately. For example, Capsule # 1 First Count,
through Capsule # 3 Second Count. All of the raw count data and the calculated total count
will appear in the thyroid uptake results display box shown in Figure 6-1, the main THYROID
UPTAKE screen.
If Measure One and Multiply by Number Administered was selected from Multiple Capsule
Administration protocol, then Figure 6-25 will appear only once. The count data will be
multiplied by the number of capsules listed on the patient demographic data screen, and both
the raw count data and calculated total count will appear in the thyroid uptake results display
box shown in Figure 6-1, the main THYROID UPTAKE screen.
When using a decay correct protocol, you have the option of using the previous room
background and capsule counts (the previous net capsule counts). This option is only
available if the date of capsule measurement, protocol, lot number, calibration date, and
calibration activity, are exactly the same for the current patient and the previous patient. If
the above conditions are met, then upon beginning a capsule count, a message will appear
as shown in figure 6-27.
